God called the family of Ron and Sharon McAtee into the music ministry as the "McAtee Family". Since then the group has experienced a lot of God's saving power! We thank God for those blessings! The group consisted of Ron McAtee on rhythm-guitar, son Ronnie on bass-guitar ...

In the summer Ronnie decided that he wanted to play lead-guitar. Ron told him that they would still need a bass-guitar player so Ronnie volunteered his mother Sharon. This would have to be a miracle from God because no one in her family had ever played a musical instrument. Ron worked with Sharon during the day and Ronnie worked with her at night. Both of them were determined that Sharon would play the bass-guitar. On Mother's Day, May 14th,Sharon played the bass-guitar for the first time in public at the Temple Of Faith in Sikeston Missouri.

Ronnie married his sweetheart Tammy. The group now consisted of two husband and wife teams: Ron McAtee on rhythm-guitar and lead vocal, Sharon McAtee on bass-guitar female vocal, Ronnie on lead-guitar and vocal and Tammy on keyboard.

Stacey, their oldest daughter, started playing drums.

The group recorded and released their first album "Going Home With Jesus".

Stacey graduated from Advance High School and left for college in Saint Louis. Kristen the younger sister stepped in and started playing drums.

God called Ronnie and Tammy into the ministry to preach and with Ron and Sharon's blessing, he and his wife Tammy left the group. Kristen moved to keyboard. Kyle Overton became the drummer and Bill Holland played lead-guitar for the McAtee Family. Since then, God has called Bill home to be with Him. He is sadly missed by the group.

The group recorded and released their second album "The Wake Up Call".

As a result of God richly blessing the group with several songs, "Read The Book" was released to radio. It did so well that the group won Air Play International's "King Eagle Award" for gospel song of the year.

Kristen graduated from Advance High School and married Jimmy Robbins and moved to Springfield Missouri to attend college.

Kyle Overton graduated from Zalma High School and moved to Tulsa Oklahoma to go to school. Ron and Sharon were faithful to God and as husband and wife went anywhere that God called them to minister. God did not leave them though at times it seemed difficult to carry on by themselves. God was preparing them for the next phase of their ministry and the reorganization of the group. As they prayed for guidance God was working.

In April while ministering at the Circle City Pentecostal Church they were reunited with Glenn Evans who had been Ron's drummer more than twenty years earlier when he played in the honky-tonks of Southeast Missouri. This was a joyous reunion for Glenn was now saved, a Christian for over a year. Glenn was faithfully attending church and living for the Lord. In June Glenn introduced Ron and Sharon to Donald Goosens, also a Christian, who played keyboard. This turned out to be a good fit and on July 4th they ministered as the McAtee's.

We look forward to many more opportunities to share the gospel in song through the coming years.
